“Patmos of Colors” welcomes Takis Fragous

The Association’s collaboration with Takis Fragous opens up new cultural avenues for Patmos and offers children the opportunity to experience art not only as learning but also as a life experience.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, Patmos will welcome a distinguished artist, musician Takis Fragous, who is coming to the island as part of a new collaboration with the association “Patmos of Colors.” From that day on, every week he will be with the children and young people of the island to teach classical guitar, double bass, cello, lute, advanced music theory, and prepare those who wish to pursue studies at music universities.

Takis Fragous is a musician with an impressive career. He started out playing the guitar and went on to play the double bass and electric bass, while as a child he studied at the National Conservatory of Nice. He has collaborated with leading composers and performers such as Mikis Theodorakis, Loukianos Kilaidonis, Yannis Markopoulos, Dimos Moutsis, Orpheas Peridis, and Giota Nega. He recently presented his work “Tell Me Fairy Tales,” a book with a CD that includes eleven songs with his own music and lyrics, featuring renowned artists such as Pantelis Thalassinos and Nikos Xydakis. His music balances between tradition, contemporary Greek song, and jazz influences, always leaving room for imagination.

This collaboration is particularly significant thanks to the work of the association “Patmos of Colors,” which for many years has been giving the island’s children access to art. Through workshops in visual arts, theater, music, and other creative activities, the Association cultivates children’s talents and promotes collectivity and the joy of expression. Within this framework, the presence of Takis Fragous enriches the potential of young people with meaningful guidance, knowledge, and inspiration.

Music meets colors, and notes become a bridge between generations. The Association’s collaboration with Takis Fragous opens new cultural avenues for Patmos and offers children the opportunity to experience art not only as learning but also as a life experience. Those who wish to meet Takis Fragous in person can contact him at 6939058538 to arrange an initial meeting.
