Sewing, Embroidery, and Clothing Design Classes with Tina Miaouli in Patmos
Since October, “Patmos of Colors” will be hosting classes for all ages and levels: beginners and advanced students in embroidery techniques, as well as basic and intermediate sewing and pattern making classes.
“Patmos of Colors” is an active cultural association that promotes the arts, education, and cultural creation on the island. Through workshops, seminars, and exhibitions, the Association gives locals and visitors the opportunity to discover new skills, express their creativity, and actively participate in the cultural life of Patmos. Participants in the courses will learn all the basics, starting with the creation of fabric bags, decorative pillows, and other soft items for the home, and will progress to basic and intermediate clothing sewing.

Tina Miaoulis, who will be responsible for this workshop, studied Fashion Design and Technology at KvB Visual Concepts in Sydney, Professional Pattern Making at East Sydney Technical College, as well as Couture/Bespoke Dressmaking and Couture Millinery. Her career in fashion began as a young seamstress in a Sydney atelier and lingerie companies, and she then worked in the atelier of Melissa Decoure (former model for Dior and Ungaro).

In 1991, she established her own business in Australia, Memsahib Couture & Theatrical Millinery, designing hats for horse racing, brides, and mothers of the bride. Her work has reached customers in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Israel, and Dubai. She has collaborated with designers in Paris, Sydney, and Israel, and her hats and creations have been worn by celebrities such as Cyndi Lauper, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Dianne Lane, and Jennifer Tilly. Her work has been published in international fashion magazines, featured on television programs and international catwalks, and appeared in the major film production “Fifty to One.”

With more than 45 years of experience in all areas of fashion, Tina Miaoulis passes on her expertise and passion to her students, offering a unique opportunity for education and creativity in Patmos.
