PATMIAN STAGE

Patmian Stage

The Patmian Stage is a group of amateur actors, which was founded in 1998. Its original purpose was and still is, the dissemination of theatre in Patmos, but also in the wider Aegean region. Since then until today, the group has staged many remarkable theatrical performances of Greek and foreign writers and even through a wide range of genres, such as comedies, historical, children’s, modern theatre, theatre of the absurd, etc.

The productions that bear the signature of the Patmian Stage are excellent and in most cases are not inferior to their professional counterparts. This is the reason why the audience that attends their performances every year greets their work with enthusiasm and every time their performances are an event to be discussed.

The members of the team – beyond the basics – are often rotated, giving the opportunity for many of the island’s people to evolve and train creatively. The Patmian Stage also supports with its participation the annual institution of the Aegean Amateur Theatre Meeting, a valuable institution, which takes place every year on a different island and is an oasis and a true celebration of culture.
