The inauguration was performed by the Abbot of the Monastery in the presence of the members of the Assembly of Mrs. Melina Travlos, the Mayor of Kalymnos and the Patmos authorities. During the opening ceremony that followed, a presentation of the premises and equipment of the Spiritual Centre, which is kindly sponsored by Neptune Lines in memory of its founder N. Travlos, took place.

In the context of this sponsorship, all the equipment such as sound systems, computers and everything necessary for the full operation of the theatre stage, the library, the exhibition space and other infrastructure was donated to “Patmion”.

After the consecration at the entrance of the exhibition area, an event followed where the representatives referred extensively to the long-standing efforts to revive the “Patmion” as a place of culture. The General Secretary of the Symplefsis, spoke about the decision to implement this action in a narrow time frame, while Mrs. Travlou, for her part, reaffirmed her decision to work with the group in the implementation of important projects.

The Municipality offered to Symplefsis and Mrs Travlou a commemorative picture of Patmos. This was followed by traditional dances and a festive atmosphere while the sky was lit up by fireworks. At the same time that on the ground floor and in the exhibition place, an exhibition of photography by the artist Mrs. Venia Behraki was taking place.

In the evening, the Municipality of Patmos, wishing to thank the volunteers of the Symplefsis and Mrs Travlou, hosted a reception at a central restaurant in Skala.
