Daphne is one of the island’s heroic figures, and though quiet. Because if coming to the island every weekend of your life for the last 16 years, putting aside your personal life and maybe your family life too, isn’t heroism, then what is?

The greatest reward for her is passing on her love of music to students of every age. Her contribution is a given, and to see this, you only have to attend the anual celebration she prepares at the end of the school year. The result is heartwarming to say the least – all the more so that she has every reason to boast of bringing out more than one talent with significant degrees and even compositional work!

In her own quiver, she has equally important degrees and distinctions: apart from her basic studies as a sociologist, she has received her BA and Diploma in piano with an A+, while she has won the first prize with soloist Natalia Michailidou. She has Advanced Theory Degrees in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue, as well as classical singing studies. She has completed courses in choral conducting, music kinetics in the Orff system and piano for preschool children.

In Athens she collaborates with the Nikos Skalkotas Conservatories and Evymnia in Piraeus. In Patmos she holds her lessons under the auspices of the association “Patmos of Colours”.
