ALONI

Aloni

restaurant – event hall

As the sun begins to set behind the windmills of Hora, Patmos reveals one of its most authentic sides. There, on the site that once housed the village’s old threshing floor, Aloni has been keeping the island’s flavours, music and hospitality alive for more than forty years.

Since 1981, this family-run business has been welcoming guests from all over the world with the same care and passion that have characterised it from the very first day it opened. Today, the second generation respectfully carries on this same philosophy, preserving the family atmosphere and authenticity that have made Aloni a landmark in Patmos.

The menu is based on traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients. The Patmos-style cheese pie, the handmade dolmades, fluffy meatballs, oven-baked kid with potatoes and slow-cooked meat in a clay pot bring to the table flavours reminiscent of a Sunday family meal and the culinary traditions of Patmos.

Every Wednesday and Saturday, Aloni comes even more to life. The live music, traditional dances and the visitors’ spontaneous participation create an atmosphere that feels more like an authentic island celebration than a staged performance.

Perhaps this is the secret behind its enduring success. Aloni does not follow trends; for four decades now, it has remained true to the values of a family business that continues to evolve, without ever losing its authenticity. And this, ultimately, is the experience that visitors take with them when they leave Patmos.
