Psili ammos is for many the emblematic beach of Patmos. Its credentials, thick blond sand, sufficient shade under the large tamarisks, green waters – often with large waves and hardly any sign of “civilization”! If these are not ingredients of paradise, then what can they be? <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Of course, Psili ammos could not be excluded from the general rule that says that the whole island is a special place! That said and starting with access, you cannot get there with your vehicle, because there is simply no road! You will have to leave your vehicle just past Diakofti beach and from there take the path that starts and leads you to Psili ammos. This is a fairly passable and well-trodden path, lasting about 20 minutes at a normal pace. Most of it is relatively flat and only in the last part, above the beach, does it become snaking and downhill. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Only the view from above of the bay where the beach is located will make you want to run downhill and dive into the challenging waters. This is a fairly common feeling among visitors to the beach. After playing with the waves and the coolness of the sea makes up for making it this far, visit the tavern. In itself, this could be an attraction, as it conjures up images of a forgotten innocence from another era. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Enjoy a soft drink or a cold beer and if you dare, resist the smell and the sight of the homemade food on offer! The natural follow up can be none other than finding a shady spot and letting go of the magic of the landscape and the summer lushness that the special places of the island know so well how to create. Choose for your return at the end of the day, enjoying the colours of the dusk all the way back, which will be even more pleasant as the temperature drops. <\/p>\n

An interesting suggestion would be to stay for dinner in the area, choosing either the small taverna located very close to where you left your vehicle, or the Tarsanas restaurant located inside the adjacent shipyard area.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
