The Patmos theater group\u2019s new production brings to the stage Akis Dimou\u2019s tender and deeply human play, directed by Anna Kleoudi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The amateur theater group Patmian Stage returns this year with a production that strikes a balance between humor, emotion, and the profound human need for communication. The play is \u201cIf I\u2019m Late, Go to Sleep\u201d by the prominent contemporary Greek playwright Akis Dimou, a work that, from its very first performance, stood out for its lyrical writing, its confessional tone, and its unique ability to transform the most ordinary moments into small theatrical revelations. <\/p>\n\n

In Dimou\u2019s play, the characters move through a world that is both familiar and poetic. People who fall in love, are disappointed, reminisce, fear loneliness, and seek a glance or a word that will make them feel less alone. With humor, music, tenderness, and moments of deep introspection, the play unfolds short stories of relationships and unfulfilled desires, creating a performance that touches the audience with immediacy and truth. <\/p>\n\n

The production is directed by Anna Kleoudi, who guides a large cast of actors and crew members with sensitivity and theatrical precision. The sets, costumes, and basic lighting design are by Kostas Matthaiou, while the poster and program were designed by Dimitra Paitaridi. The music selection is by Theologos Gryllis, sound is by Dionysis Travlos, and lighting is by Manolis Travlos. <\/p>\n\n

Appearing on stage are: Filio Grylli, Yannis Andreou, Katerina Tsoukala, Theologos Koumanis, Dimitris Galanis, Fotini Erga, Yannis Skempes, Nikitas Kavouras, Irini Patrikarakou, and Christina Hratzanioti, who form a vibrant ensemble of characters, conveying with immediacy, humor, and emotion the delicate balance between the comic and the deeply human elements of the play.<\/p>\n\n

The Patmian Stage, which for years has been one of Patmos\u2019s most important cultural hubs, continues to be a steadfast champion of amateur theater, proving that a love of the arts, collective effort, and creativity can produce high-quality performances of substantial artistic value.<\/p>\n\n

The performances will take place on May 22, 23, 24, and 31, as well as on June 1 and 2, at the Patmion Cultural Center, starting at 9:00 p.m. The performance lasts 70 minutes, and the Patmos audience is expected, once again, to warmly embrace the new work by the Patmian Stage. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
