The leading Chamber Music Festival returns for the fifth year to the Island of the Apocalypse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

For yet another year, Patmos is preparing to host one of the most important international chamber music festivals in the Mediterranean, offering a unique cultural experience. From 24 to 30 August 2026, the Patmos Chamber Music Festival returns for its fifth edition. It brings together leading international composers, promising young artists and a loyal audience, in a unique natural and spiritual setting. <\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n

This festival was founded in 2022 by Massimo Fino and Roberto Prosseda and is organised by the Associazione Patmos Chamber Music Festival. Its aim remains to highlight the island\u2019s unique character by fostering a fruitful dialogue between the arts, history and the environment. Over the course of the seven-day festival, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to attend ten major concerts, film screenings, discussions with artists, educational workshops, as well as a programme of cultural events. The events will take place at some of Patmos\u2019s most iconic venues, including the Church of Panagia Diasosousa, the Old School in Chora, the Patmion Cultural Centre and the playground of the Primary School in Skala. <\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n

This year\u2019s festival stands out for its impressive programme and the participation of internationally renowned artists, such as Steven Isserlis, Michael Guttman, Maxim Rysanov, Marc Bouchkov, Alessandro Carbonare, Thibaut Garcia, Ir\u00e8ne Duval, Jing Zhao, Alessandra Ammara, Roberto Prosseda, Viktoria Postnikova, Bruno Monsaingeon and Paolo Fazioli, as well as many other distinguished musicians. The festival opens on 24 August with works by Schubert, Boccherini and Prokofiev. The audience will also enjoy a rare performance of Bach\u2019s Goldberg Variations, arranged for two guitars by Thibaut Garcia and Antoine Morini\u00e8re. The programme continues with the \u2018From the East\u2019 concert, an evening dedicated to Pauline Viardot featuring the historic 1902 \u00c9rard piano, as well as a tribute to the sacred music of Sir John Tavener. On the final weekend, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Michael Guttman, will give two major orchestral concerts. <\/p>\n\n

As well as the musical programme, the festival offers events that bring the audience closer to the artists, such as the screening of Bruno Monsaingeon\u2019s new documentary and the \u2018The Making of Excellence\u2019 event. Education remains a key pillar, with public seminars and the concert by the Young Artists Programme. The festival will draw to a close on 30 August with a recital of Greek songs by soprano Katerina Mina and pianist Roberto Prosseda, followed by the closing concert of the Brussels Chamber Orchestra. In this way, the Patmos Chamber Music Festival continues to strengthen the island\u2019s international cultural identity, transforming it into a vibrant crossroads of artistic excellence and cultural dialogue. <\/p>\n\n
