Art exhibition entitled: RETURN II by Alexandros Maganiotis
From 22 to 30 July 2025, the Stavrakas House in Hora of Patmos hosts the art exhibition RETURN II by Alexandros Maganiotis, as part of an initiative of the Society of Patmian Culture.
The exhibition, under the auspices of the Society, presents works from the series “In Search of Odysseus”, a personal, interpretive approach to the Homeric myth by the artist. The section focuses on the notion of nostos, the journey and human perseverance. Odysseus is approached as a timeless and universal symbol, not as a hero of an epic, but as a figure in conversation with contemporary experience. The works in the exhibition form a visual dialogue with literature and the concept of return, attempting a contemporary perspective on the archetype of wandering, loss, knowledge and memory.

The section was presented for the first time in 2021 at the Archaeological Museum of Patras and is transferred to Patmos as a continuation of this creative journey. The choice of the Stavrakas House to host the exhibition reinforces the dialogue between myth and history, thoughtfully and without pretension. RETURN II does not propose a sensational reading of Odysseus, but a reflective approach to the way myth persists and transforms. Through a simple and straightforward visual language, Maganiotis brings out the core of a story that never ceases to concern contemporary man.

Alexandros Maganiotis was born and lives in Athens. He studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and continued with postgraduate studies at UCL, London. He has held solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad and his works are included in public and private collections. His work is characterized by a conscious simplicity of form, clarity of visual language and consistency in his thematic approach.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday 22 July, from 19:00 to 22:00. The exhibition will be open daily, 11:30-13:30 and 19:00-21:30. Entrance is free.
