“The Girl from Nowhere” – Presentation by Flora Tzelepi at Koukoumavla, in Patmos’ “Magazine of Wonders”!

On Wednesday, August 20, at 7:00 p.m., the town of Patmos will welcome Flora Tzelepi, who will present her new novel, “The Girl from Nowhere.” The event will take place in the warm and unique space of Koukoumavla, the well-known “Magazine of Miracles,” where books and art coexist in a fairy-tale way.

The book begins with the promise of a simple story of friendship, but its narrative gradually illuminates dark paths of the soul. The friendship between Nadia and Stella becomes the canvas on which a profound and shocking narrative is woven. Nadia has grown up surrounded by love, understanding, and protection, while Stella has experienced the cruelty of an environment that has plunged her into violence, loss, and fear. The two girls are connected by the thread of fate, and this bond, as it unfolds, captivates the reader. The novel deals with themes heavier than a simple story of friendship, such as domestic violence, gang violence, sexual abuse of minors — and raises unanswered questions about fate, survival, and the possibility of escaping a haunting past.

The author, Flora Tzelepi, was born and lives in Piraeus. She studied Journalism, Marketing, and Public Relations and has a love for history, literature, painting, and the sea. She had a distinguished professional career and, among other things, served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for the Protection of Minors, was a founding member of the International Classical Music Festival in Porto Heli, and worked on topics related to cultural history in modern Greece for Biris Publications. Her novels include “The Lines of Life” (2020), “Secrets in the Arid Land” (2021), and “The Lawyer” (2023).

The presentation of her book on August 20 offers us a very interesting opportunity to enter a world that combines literary talent with social sensitivity. It is an invitation to find oneself in the burning zone where even the darkest past is illuminated by the possibilities of rebirth and meaningful change.
