Patmos puts on its running shoes and prepares to host the third annual “Patmos ChoRun”.

On Sunday, September 14, this unique event, which began a few years ago and has now become a benchmark for those who love running and want to experience the island from a different perspective, will take place once again.

Runners will start and finish in front of the town hall, following routes that pass through the alleys, uphill paths, and characteristic landscapes of Patmos, discovering small corners of its architecture and history along the way. The program includes 5 and 10 km races, starting at 10:00, as well as a 1 km children’s race at 11:15. The goal is not only performance, but also the joy of participation, whether one chooses to run or walk energetically.

However, the experience begins on Saturday, September 13, with parallel events that give the two-day event a festive character. The ATMOS beach bar in Kampos will welcome the athletes at noon on Saturday with a Pasta Party, ideal for energizing them before the race. And in the evening, at 8:30 p.m., the square in Skala will be filled with music with a concert by the band “Xefrago Ambeli”. The band, which started in 2011, stands out for the way it combines traditional elements with the spontaneity of a group of friends, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an authentic island celebration.

Patmos ChoRun 2025 is not just a sporting event. It is a way to experience Patmos with all your senses; to run and sweat, to taste and feast, to dance and sing. It is a gathering of people who seek movement, celebration, and community on an island that knows how to embrace every visitor.

The event is organized thanks to the initiative of the Patmos Gymnastics Association “Stadion,” in collaboration with the Municipality and the South Aegean Region, under the auspices of EAS SEGAS Dodecanese. Registration is done online and you can find the form here. You can register up to the day of the race, up to 45 minutes before the start, thus allowing even the most spontaneous to take part. All runners will receive a race number with a timing chip, a commemorative T-shirt, and a medal. Also full medical and insurance coverage is provided.
