Against the wind – Tira’s flying adventure
The association “PATMOS OF COLORS” is offering the theatrical performance “Against the Wind – The Flying Adventure of Tira” for another year, which is aimed at the children of Patmos and is free of charge. It is a performance full of imagination, sensitivity, and powerful messages from the HIPPO THEATRE GROUP, which will be presented on February 13, 16, and 17, 2026, for the Kindergartens and Primary Schools of Skala, Ηora, and Kampos, in the hall of the association “PATMOS OF COLORS,” in the small square of Skala.

“Tira’s Flying Adventure” tells the story of a creature who dares to dream beyond its limits and fly against the wind, searching for the strength hidden within. Through a stage narrative full of movement, music, and vivid images, the play speaks to children about the value of perseverance, self-confidence, and belief in ourselves, even when conditions seem adverse. With inventive staging and direct communication with the audience, the HIPPO THEATRE GROUP creates an experiential experience that combines entertainment with an educational approach, encouraging children to express themselves, collaborate, and cultivate their imagination.

The hosting of the performance at the premises of the association “PATMOS OF COLORS” is no coincidence. This dynamic cultural hub of the island has developed a wide range of educational programs for children and adults, investing substantially in creative expression and lifelong learning. At the heart of its activities is music education, with the teaching of a wide range of musical instruments as well as theoretical courses, offering a solid foundation for those who wish to explore the world of music. At the same time, art workshops for all ages cultivate imagination and creativity, while sewing and embroidery seminars highlight the value of handicrafts and traditional skills through contemporary approaches.

The meeting of a dynamic theater group with an active cultural association creates the ideal conditions for a meaningful artistic experience for the students of Patmos. At a time when the need for quality cultural activities in education is more pressing than ever, performances such as “Against the Wind – The Flying Adventure of Tira” remind us that theater can be a valuable ally in cultivating values, enhancing empathy, and empowering children to dream and move forward, even when the wind is blowing against them.
