“XROMATA”: Nina Ioannidou’s Personal Revelation on Patmos
From the world of flowers to ceramic art, Nina Ioannidou presents an exhibition at the Patmion Cultural Center inspired by the light, beauty, and unique energy of the island.

For more than three decades, Nina Ioannidou has been synonymous with the art of floral design in Greece. Throughout her long professional career in floral design, she has highlighted the power of composition, balance, and aesthetics, transforming each creation into a small visual narrative. In recent years, however, her artistic exploration has led her down a new creative path: ceramics, a medium that allows her to express her relationship with nature, color, and form with even greater freedom.

Her new exhibition, titled “XROMATA,” will be on display at the Patmos Cultural Center from July 24 to 28, representing a personal expression of her soul, inspired by the island of Patmos. In her works, handmade ceramic vessels, painted by the artist herself, coexist harmoniously with flowers and natural elements, creating compositions that bridge functionality with artistic expression.

As she herself notes in the text accompanying the exhibition, her connection with Patmos began in the early 2000s, when an unexpected event brought her to the island. The authentic beauty, unique atmosphere, and spirituality of the place inspired her to return time and again, to form friendships, and ultimately to establish her own creative space in Diakofti.

Her many years of working with flowers had a decisive influence on her new artistic path. As she notes, she has always sought the dialogue between the flower and the vessel that holds it, searching for the right form and perfect balance. In ceramics, she found the ideal medium to express this relationship, creating works that exude simplicity, color, and serenity.

The exhibition is a visual invitation to discover Nina Ioannidou’s personal “Revelation”: a journey where the art of flower arranging meets ceramics, united by the beauty, spirituality, and timeless inspiration that Patmos offers.
