About 10 years ago George started beekeeping as a hobby in his spare time. He started reading about it and collecting as much information as he could about his then new hobby. An occupation which in the process became a love for the wondrous world of bees and filled him with passion.

Today, he has developed this love into a small production of a wonderful and completely natural product, which you can find at two points of sale: the AB store and the newspaper agency in Skala.

The varieties of honey produced on the island are derived from the herbs of Patmos and are two: heather honey which is collected in December and thyme honey which is collected in July.

The small production, which varies from year to year, is the result of the three colonies that George maintains today, consisting of a total of 150 beehives in three different parts of the island.

“Patmos Honey” as it is labelled bears two different colour labels, depending on its variety – thyme or heather and is a product registered with the Ministry of Development and Food, in the special National Beekeeping Register, EL. 81/991.
