The “Women’s Odyssey”

The main purpose of the action is to present the underwater world in its current state by communicating the results of scientific research and to raise awareness on marine conservation issues.

The “Women’s Odyssey” is a scientific sailing expedition starting from the island of Kalymnos and then anchoring on the islands of Lipsi, Patmos, Tilos and Nisyros. The environmental organisation “Oceanides”, which is also the promoter of the action, is based in Kalymnos and is involved in marine research and the promotion of sustainable management solutions. Its aim is to inspire local communities to become part of the change.

The Oceanides and the five women who make up this mission, invite you to an open discussion on the protection of the environment and marine life, at the Patmion Cultural Centre, on Friday 28 March 2025 at 6:00 pm and Saturday 29 March at 10:00 am for children!

The action is implemented with the support of the Athena I. Martinou Foundation, in the framework of the “Points of Support” programme, co-funded by 10 non-profit organisations.
